New Patients
Your first appointment at Eastgate takes about 60 minutes. Your physiotherapist takes a full history, examines the problem, explains what is going on in plain language and, in most cases, starts treatment the same day. No referral is needed. Bring your insurance card, any imaging or reports, and comfortable clothing, and arrive 10 minutes early for the intake form.
We start with a conversation: how the problem began, what makes it better or worse, what you have tried, and what you want to get back to. Your physiotherapist then examines movement, strength and the areas around the problem — a knee issue often starts at the hip or ankle. You will hear what we found and why before anything else happens.
Once the assessment is complete, treatment usually begins in the same visit: hands-on therapy, IMS where appropriate, and one or two exercises to start at home. You leave with a plan, an idea of how many visits to expect, and a clear next step. Follow-up visits are typically 30–45 minutes.
Most patients pay nothing at the desk. We direct-bill Alberta Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life, Manulife, GreenShield and most other extended health plans, and we bill WCB and Section B motor vehicle claims directly. If you are self-paying, itemised receipts are provided.
937 Fir Street #100, Sherwood Park, just off Baseline Road and Sherwood Drive, with free parking directly outside. We are open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
No. Physiotherapy in Alberta is direct-access. Some insurers ask for a physician referral to reimburse, so check your plan.
Comfortable clothing that lets us see and move the area being treated — shorts for a knee or hip, a tank top for a shoulder or neck.
In most cases, yes. Treatment starts once the assessment is complete.
Most acute problems improve within 6–8 sessions; chronic conditions and WCB or MVA cases often take longer. We tell you what to expect at your first visit.
Yes. Ask for a practitioner by name when you book.
We ask for 24 hours’ notice so the time can be offered to another patient.
